stiff upper lip? what does that really mean?

yesterday l spend a good amount of my day at Urban coffee. While there I was again faced with the British way of should I say...Resilience.

to give some background, the front door of urban has difficulty closing and therefore will swing open if not shut properly....which in fact happened repeatedly. (if this would have been only once I would have blown it off, twice felt a bit more annoyed but no, OH NO there were three separate occurences)

AND EVERYTIME, of the ten or so people sitting there enjoying coffee, ALL pretented as if nothing had happened

EVEN THOUGH A FREEZING COLD DRAFT WAS COMING IN AT RAPID SPEED.

I was forced to walk completely across the room and shut it myself.

Good thing there was an American there to save the day.

from hearing of your experiences, I have concluded that the Brits strive to maintain a melancholy attitude in public places and well, acting surprised at a frigid gust of air or fireworks going off in the back of a bus doesn't make the cut to disturb their melancholy-ness :)

nah, sweetie is more an american way of referring to a significant other. Or at least I've never referred to one as that. And Reeces peices? nasty.

IIIIII know! But we do live in a city, and I guess people just can't be bothered in a city. Life is too easily disrupted. As long as you're around Liverpool, KC, I guess you're going to be the one getting up every five minutes to shut the door ;).

Thanks KC for being "American" where there is obviously a severe need of some American Influence (i.e. Liverpool, and probably all of the UK). They should be greatful that American's such as yourself and the rest of the LP Agape team are humble enough to share your lives and Americanness with those effectively blessed people in LP.

Ha... We are blessed by the presence of some rather marvellous American STINTers Tim, this is true.

I would also like to note however that i have been in Urban Coffee and got up to close the door in the past and I am most certainly British.

Well Rich, you are most certainly an exception from what I hear. But I aplaud you in your good deeds and encourage you to continue that pursuit.

The only question I have for you is if you had that kind of quality character trait before the American STINT team showed up or was created only after they had a chance to influence you?...Just a thought. This is not to discredit you in your actions of good deeds, but rather to give credit where credit is due...hahaha

Hope to see you on the 3rd and 4th of Feb. when we will be in LP.
